Lake Nona West Stores Open Now and What's Still Coming

October 8, 2026

Tavistock describes Lake Nona West as "a place designed to stay awhile, not simply pass through." At the end of September 2026, most of what's open there is the pass-through kind of store. You can buy a patio chair, a case of wine, running shoes and a new hardcover in one trip. You can't yet sit down for dinner, pick up fudge or take a reformer class there.

The center has opened in order of size, and that order explains what a stop there feels like right now. The biggest boxes came first, and the small storefronts meant to keep people around come last. Openings are scheduled to continue into early 2027.

The big stores came first

Lake Nona West covers 54 acres and more than 405,000 square feet at 5959 Lake Nona Blvd., near Boggy Creek Road and southeast of State Road 417. This is the order the stores opened in this year:

Store Address Status as of late September 2026
Homesense Lake Nona West Opened in May, the center's first store
Barnes & Noble 6039 Lake Nona Blvd. Opened June 10, about 16,000 sq ft with a café
Total Wine & More 6031 Lake Nona Blvd. Open
Target Lake Nona West Opened July 26, about 150,000 sq ft anchor
DICK'S Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy 6057 Lake Nona Blvd. Listed with daily hours, 66,000 sq ft shared
Nordstrom Rack 6015 Lake Nona Blvd. Scheduled to open September 24, about 26,000 sq ft

Add up just four of those stores, Target, the shared DICK'S and Golf Galaxy building, Nordstrom Rack and Barnes & Noble, and you get roughly 258,000 square feet. That's well over half the center's total from four doors, before Homesense and Total Wine are counted at all.

The timeline also moved. As recently as August 19, GrowthSpotter listed DICK'S, Golf Galaxy, Nordstrom Rack and Sephora as stores that would open "later this year." Since then, the DICK'S locator has started showing store hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Golf Galaxy's locator page for the same building also shows daily hours. Neither retailer has published an opening date.

Each of these big stores does more than sell what's on its shelves. Golf Galaxy includes a Golf Galaxy Performance Center. Nordstrom Rack handles pickup and returns for Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack online orders. Target is part of the retailer's newer, larger store format. Practical jobs like a return or a club fitting now have a closer option inside the community.

The small storefronts are still mostly listed as coming soon

The shaded promenades, pocket parks and gathering greens in Tavistock's design only work if there's a reason to stay between stops. Those reasons are mostly the tenants that haven't opened yet. Lake Nona's July 29 update named these as coming next:

  • Cañonita Lake Nona, a contemporary Mexican restaurant from Tavistock Restaurant Collection, making its Central Florida debut in a space of about 7,700 square feet
  • Kilwins, the sweets shop known for chocolates, ice cream and fudge made in-store on marble tables
  • JETSET Pilates, a reformer studio founded in Miami Beach
  • Just Salad, which the center describes as the first U.S. restaurant chain to add carbon labels across its full menu
  • Gloss Nail Co., a female-founded studio focused on natural nail care and Bio Sculpture Gel
  • Drybar, a blowout salon
  • Sephora, for makeup, skincare, fragrance and hair care

No dated opening announcement has turned up for any of these seven. The center's own directory still labels several dining and service listings "COMING SOON." Cañonita has the firmest public timeline. When GrowthSpotter reported on the restaurant in April, it said a fourth-quarter opening was expected.

Compare the sizes. Cañonita's 7,700 square feet is the largest space on that list with a published size, and Target alone is almost twenty times bigger. A restaurant, a fudge counter and a Pilates studio take up very little of the 405,000 square feet. They decide whether someone who came for paper towels stays for an hour.

What you can already use besides the stores

Some of the stay-awhile features are already in place, and they work on any errand trip.

The Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging hub has 20 fast chargers, and its station page lists it as open 24/7. On PlugShare, the public charging map, a driver logged a successful charge there on September 24.

The Chalk & Brush mural program plans 30 original murals across the buildings and walkways, placed around the center for people to find on foot instead of grouped on one wall. The easiest one to spot is "Greetings from Lake Nona West," which faces Lake Nona Boulevard and includes The Glass House and Disco the dog. In late July, Lake Nona described the murals as "taking shape." Nothing published since says whether all 30 are finished, so it may be worth a walk-through to see what's new.

If you want a sit-down meal after a Lake Nona West run this fall, the newest nearby options are outside the center. BaBbi BaBbi Korean Kitchen opened its third Orlando-area location at 10799 Moss Park Road, Suite 102, with a menu that includes bibimbap and kimbap. For groceries, Sprouts Farmers Market opened June 12 at 10013 Eagle Creek Sanctuary Blvd., with hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The next building would be another big box

The next planned growth points the same way. In August, Tavistock Development Co. filed a Specific Parcel Master Plan with the city for a 140,000-square-foot hardware store on vacant land just east of the Target. The site plan from LJA Engineering shows a single building of up to 150,000 square feet on 15.6 acres, with 570 parking spaces.

The filing doesn't name a tenant. GrowthSpotter's reasoning is that only two home improvement chains build stores that large, and Lake Nona already has a Lowe's on Narcoossee Road, which points to Home Depot. Today the closest Home Depot is about 10 miles away in the Lee Vista area. Until a city approval or an announcement from the retailer comes out, the store is still a filed plan with an expected tenant.

The same report says the site plan doesn't include the murals or the Mercedes-Benz chargers, though both could be added later. If it's built as filed, Lake Nona West's growth past its own edge would add one more trip-with-a-purpose store before the smaller dining and wellness tenants are all open.

How to plan a trip there this fall

For a practical errand run, Lake Nona West is already working. Home goods, wine, books with a café, a Target, sporting goods, golf and off-price fashion are all in one walkable stretch along Lake Nona Boulevard, plus an EV charger you can use while you shop. For dinner, dessert or a workout class, the center's official channels are the ones to watch through the fourth quarter. Cañonita is the opening with a published target window, and the other six are listed but undated. Tavistock says more national, local and first-to-market tenants will be announced as openings continue into early 2027.

When a center fills in like this, the businesses around it shift too, from where errands happen to how a nearby street feels on a weeknight.
